2010 Lotus Exige Scura

The Lotus Exige Scura special edition will be premiered at the Tokyo International Motorshow on 21st of October 2009. Translated as ‘dark’ from Italian, the name ‘Scura’ reflects the stealth character of this already fierce looking Lotus and its stunning soft-feel matt black paint finish will be limited to 35 units globally and features performance and weight enhancements. The Lotus Exige Scura comes with contrasting high gloss ‘Phantom Black’ triple stripes run the length of the car and a carbon fiber front splitter, oil cooler inlet vanes, side airscoops and rear spoiler.

The Lotus Exige Scura is powered by a 1.8 liter supercharged and intercooled unit that develops 260 PS (257 hp) at 8000 rpm and 236 Nm (174 lb-ft) of torque at 6000 rpm. With this powerplant under its hood, the Lotus Exige Scura is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and up to a maximum speed of 245 km/h. A lightweight flywheel is fitted, a sports-type clutch plate and heavy duty clutch cover transfer the engine power and torque to the lightweight C64 six-speed gearbox with the same perfectly spaced ratios as the Lotus Exige S.

The Lotus Exige Scura UK recommended retail price (including VAT) is £45,000 (an additional £950 is charged for on the road costs. These include delivery, PDI, first service, number plates, first registration fee, valet, 12 months Road Fund Licence and a full tank of fuel.)

2010 Lotus Evora Carbon Concept

Lotus Evora has presented the basis of the carbon design concept unveiled at the 80th Geneva Motorshow. The Evora Carbon Concept car, revealed to emphasize Lotus’ motorsport pedigree, introduce a stylish carbon fiber, leather and alcantara interior, aggressive carbon diffuser and composite body.

The Evora exterior styling direction is marked with a structural carbon fiber roof, Lotus Motorsport influenced carbon diffuser and carbon splitter. In the interior, the Evora combines the lustre of the carbon panels with perforated leather and matt alcantara. The bespoke interior uses swathes of grey alcantara to cover the footwell, dashboard and roof. The leather and alcantara are put side by side with the hard surfaces of the carbon fibre.

The Evora Carbon Concept car has diamond cut forged 19” alloy wheels front and rear, shod with Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tyres (235/35 wide front and 285/30 wide rear). The wheels and tyres fill the wheel arches to give the car a purposeful appearance.
